Telkom and Vodacom roaming agreement will not affect network performance

Telkom and Vodacom recently signed a major roaming agreement which will allow Telkom customers to roam on Vodacom's 2G, 3G, and 4G networks in South Africa.

The roaming agreement is comprehensive, and includes seamless handover support - which means Telkom customers will not experience dropped calls when moving from the coverage of a Vodacom tower to a Telkom installation, or vice versa.

Quite interesting. I wonder if when Telkom roams on Vodacom if they can use Telkom's spectrum.

Cell C is only too happy to get away from Vodacom. There's been a lot of bad blood between them, and MTN is the lesser of the two evils.

More to the point though, AFAIK Telkom is the only provider with the ability to actually deliver 5G connectivity. MTN and Cell C aren't interested in chasing that label, so they're happy to wait until the technology gets cheaper.

I dont think it is a good. I am with Vodacom for years ,and batteling for years to get a good data reception in the Overberg .Then I took out a Cellc Contract to see if it was not better yust to find out ,that they are raoming on Vodacom. Cellc tells you straightaway put your settings on Vodacom. Now when Vodacoms line get congested wich are offen there is no Cellc . And that is a worry for me
