Mine works fine but been using the legacy Telkom app for onnet sim cards and the MyTelkom for sim cards that require logging in.

The Telkom app is useless. Crashes a lot. Brings up random, spurious error messages. Telkom don’t seem to care. Logging in to their portal on their website is also an exercise in frustration.
App doesnt work on Huawei devices. Cannot login

The Telkom app doesn't work. Full stop. And try to get hold of a human being to tell them this. I once saw an elderly gentlemen come into the store in Rosebank to complain about it and show the staff, and they literally laughed at him. Tells you all you need to know about Telkom.

There was a new app released not long ago, much better but I am afraid also with its own huge issues. App was deffies not beta tested. I have complaining to them on Twitter but don't have much hope in getting resolved. For example checking coverage takes you to the help bot, every option in the menu infact. Then when you check coverage on a smartphone you are unable to navigate the map with your fingers. Been like that for months, even tried different browsers
Just trying to get my contract sim to show in my app. Currently sitting here in the telkom store and technician tell me it's impossible.
I can see an old sim I had years ago and technician says I must register that as prepaid sim, then move my contract to that number.
Its like the entire telkom system infrastructure has collapsed and nothing talking to each other.
Maybe I should just stop paying. How they gonna know

OK just some feedback to hopefully help someone.
AS explained above Telkom technician told me it could not be done. I was about the cancel the contract.
Then it dawned on me... i'm getting the invoice on another email.
So i tried the login on the app on the other email and low and behold, there the account is.
Let say i have two emails. email1 and email2.
Logging into the app, on email1, i don't see the account, but on the website i can see it with email1
it's the exact opposite for the second email... How even, i ask you with tears in my eyes.
But that was not the end of my issues.
I needed the app to transfer data. Now that i can see the account, I can get into the transfer data option. BUT, the account's sim is sitting in a router, so no way to get the SMS OTP. I asked if i can add another telkom prepaid sim to that account so I can make it get the OTP. So they transferred the prepaid sim to my email which CANNOT access the account.
I phoned them and asked for it to be moved to other email account... sorry we can't
BUT... the lady finally gave me an option that worked.
Use the website, login to account , go to products, then use the top up menu, and on there is a transfer data option.
On this transfer option, your given the option to send OTP to my primary number on account (cell c number) or email.
App does not give this option to select where OTP goes to.
And FINALLY, after a month of back and forth I could transfer data.
