Telkom Authentication Problems

Did anyone hear anything further regarding the authentication problems experienced last week.

Heard along the grapevine that the SAIX RADIUS could not handle the increased authentication load caused by load-shedding. Their Notice seem to have indicated otherwise :-(
 
I have been having authentication problems for a few weeks now, but some days it happens other days it is fine, and I havent yet logged a call to Telkom, but to answer your questions, no i haven't heard anything from Telkom
 
Problems being experienced over the past few weeks certainly still present yesterday. As Sasha says, sometimes it's OK. Other times, however, virtually impossible to connect. (Retry up to 50 times and perhaps you get lucky). Telkom Call Centre a waste of time "currently experiencing high call volumes....). Logged a fault online to Telkom last week but not even the courtesy of a response other than the original automatic reply. I have a backup Afrihost account and that generally connects fine when Telkom does not.
 
I am still experiencing authentication issues with my Telkom ADSL account. It takes approx. 2-3 hours to authenticate. All other ISP's connect immediately.

Is this happening to anyone else at the moment?
 
I received an email from Crystalweb last week which contained the below info about telkom related problems:

"Please note that for at least the next 7 days, and possibly until the end of this month, Telkom will be upgrading most exchanges around South Africa. During this time, your Telkom exchange may go offline for up to 7 hours, and you may have difficulty synchronising with the Telkom network entirely, and authenticating on ISP accounts. Throughput during this time may also be reduced should Telkom move capacity over their redundant links to prevent downtime for any unforeseen or preventative reasons. Should this happen to your line, please do not be alarmed, as this is an expected process while these overdue upgrades and maintenance processes take place on the Telkom network."

Thanks for the reply Purply. My authentication issues started 3 weeks ago - Long before the Crystalweb notice.

We're seeing some reports at the moment from customers on the East Rand about a few throughput issues. Not sure if it's related at all though as there is no notice about it right now.

Day 6 without internet. Busy driving everyone around me up the walls! Lol, even went to the extent of getting a new router, and thought it might be old and glitchy (duoplus 300) but that didnt fix the problem, computer is syncing to the internet but keep getting autharization fail error. It's insane! Any updates from PE?

Sorry couldnt get to the offer thing, any help would greatly be appreciated! I'm at my wits end with Telkom lol.
