Well looks like the extra 500 meg telkom used to give us mahala has fallen away, was hard capped at exacatly 1 gig, not a kilobyte more.
after telkom giving us 1.5 gig as the cap i do find this crappy.
guess the free ride is over, time to dump them. :)

They took away 500 MB from their 1 GB clients so that they could increase the data available to their 3 GB clients from 4.5 GB to 5 GB and pretend to have upped the caps:mad:

I am sure this has led to an overall saving for them.

Rob Peter to pay Paul

I agree with Nerfherder for R149 which is double the price, but you get double the local data for free plus an additional 2 GB blended data. Overall 3 GB Blended data with 20 GB free local data in-bundle

I can sort of understand why they are doing this... 1gig ADSL is not cost effective, as you can get 1gig for the same price on almost any other technology (3G, iburst etc) To get the benefit you really need to get using more than 1 gig

Pusher/junkie business practice...

I understand this fully...

Iburp did the same, over-delivered... Like a drug pusher. Then took it away... I guess expecting ppl to suddenly start buying their extra data, like a junkie. Iburst no longer has my business because I resent being treated like junkie (or idiot).

If the rules are clear (and applied) from the start. This resentment doesn't happen.

Hmm I'm on the 4 Gig deal but I can only download 4 gig this month so why were the 4 GB accounts not included?

No wonder our network infrastructure is not growing, the suppliers are creating a divide again. While I can afford the extra cost to bump up to the nest tier most people are already scratching their pennies just to have some kind of connection to the net.
The goal post is constantly being moved, further and further away....
