Telkom, BCX appeared to be wed before merger

David Nurek, the former deputy chairman of Business Connexion (BCX), was reported to have believed that Telkom appeared to have more information about BCX's results than its own board, according to the competition commission's senior counsel, Owen Rogers.

Rogers said that subsequent to this meeting it emerged that Telkom had directly approached Sasol, which was one of BCX's major clients, and told the oil and gas company that it did not need the services of BCX any more.

That's what happens when a corporate controls the government and allowed to do anything they wish. Just amazing how they could go about ignoring the competition board ruling.

Watt acknowledged that this had happened. "Telkom wanted to deal directly with Sasol and cut us out," he said.

"When I became aware of this I immediately took it up with Telkom and told them they could not behave in that way."

Nurek and Berkowitz wanted to press Telkom for damages or at least for an explanation. When nothing was forthcoming, they both resigned last December.

Well now we can see how TELKOM operates.
They need a hefty slap on the wrist, instead they get 'another' 4 year extension on their monopoly.
 
Telkom feels nothing for anything or anyone in this country. They where suppose to merge with bcx, instead they try and steal business from them. Imagine you are in business for yourself and your partner to be does that to you.

I'll invite him for a braai and complement him on his competitiveness!!
 
It is now time for a full Enron style investigation into Telkom and its practices. Sieze all their internal documents and memorandums and emails and investigate everything.

I bet you once this starts, shredders will work nonstop in Telkoms Head Office.
 
my information on the proposed merger is that there is a high probability that it will be prevented by the competition authorities...
 
Just don't touch Telkom, that's the moral of the story.
