Telkom blocking website and game server? or..

Hi All,
I am totally confused and seriously in need of some advice here. I play a number of online games and suddenly one of them "Albion Online" a game I been playing a while wont connect. I can't even access the website of account dashboard.
Submitted a ticket to their support who told me to try another connection as there is no problems on their side. I have a free account
which I tried and it worked no issues.
Telkom support did a port reset and told me they wont ever block stuff, now they telling me to take a unshaped uncapped package, but
i have a uncapped 10meg line which been working fine for ages, or the VPN-Lite.
Still no resolution and the site and game server are blocked. Can only access them via vpn or another isp.
Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas of what this is or how to fix it.

Ping the website address, see if it at least resolves the IP of the site. If it does resolve an IP do a trace to that IP...

For a quick test to see if it's DNS related change your DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 and try to access it...
 
Thanks for your reply, changed the DNS and did a ping with 100% loss 'Request timed out', below is part of the
tracert, the remainder of it is all Request timed out. I Dont understand why only on Telkom, when I use my free
account from Axxess, no problem.

yes, they had a massive DDoS monday since then I cant connect, but I can using afrihost or axxess just telkom for some reason.
[Edit] Afrihost and Axxess are 1gig free accounts.
 
Easiest would have been to google 'is Albion Online down'.
I believe down detector is normally the first or second search result and would have confirmed if it was only you or the actual game.
9/10 It's the games servers.
 
Also on Telkom through BCX and the site won't resolve, however on Telkom Mobile it goes through fine.
 
It would appear that Albion Online have region blocked 'Africa' as a result of DDoS attacks that have been happening lately. Their support told me if we fall within the region of those attacks then yes, we would be blocked and the only way to connect to the game would be to use a VPN.
[Edit] I find it weird that it's only Telkom that seems blocked as I been able to connect with both afrihost and axxess..

That trace looks like it's issues with Telkom's routing, not even leaving the country....

If they are blocking Africa region then the trace should still come close to where their servers are, but it's not blocked on the other ISP's so issue is probably with Telkom's routing

Thanks for your reply. I just logged with an axxess account did a ping and tracert, strangely the ping has 100% loss, the tracert seems to get as far as 'siteprotect.security.neustar' and then times out. I was able to log into the game and the website.

Their support advised I use a VPN, also said the DDoS attacks have increased lately. I guess this is where I either ditch this game or look for a VPN.
