Hi Guys,

I just ordered the upgrade of my DSL line to the 1024 offering and was blown away by the difference in professionalism that I received since I last spoke to the Telkom new services department. I did not hold on for even a minute this time before an agent called Lucinda answered. She was immediately able to assist me and the whole process did not take longer than four minutes to complete. She informed me throughout the process what she was doing and I did not have to wait for 10 minutes like the last time while the agent was hammering away at the keyboard trying to find the correct screen to enter the order on.

They also do a check to see if your exchange can supply the 4Mbit/s service and inform you immediately if this is the case.

I was pleasantly surprised by this and I must give them credit where credit is due. Well done Telkom!

Now if you can just do something about your sky high prices and monopolistic activities, you will definitely swing the negative perception of your company around.

PS - O yes, thank you for dropping the line on the script that read "Thank you for calling Telkom. How can we supply you with the most excellent service?"

I had the same thing, very professional, got my order through quickly and efficiently, my line was upgraded about 7days later ;)

My line was upgraded within 24 hours.
 
I have never experience good telkom service, in anything. Maybe this is a sign of things to come...I am not holidng my breath though...

I've spent a total of 55 minutes sitting on hold the three times I have called this month. Ordered Adsl on the 3rd Oct, made a follow up the week later (10 Oct) looking for an installation date. They said the port had been assigned, everything was good, they just need a date from the installation dept. Phone again on Wed 18th Oct. Same status, no date, and was asked if anyone had let me know that this takes 28 days.

The number for the new services department is 1023. I called the next day to confirm and received the same excellent service from a different agent. The line was upgraded about half an hour later.
