Telkom Closer Plan 5: Anyone tried it?

Hmmm....ok...At the moment, I pay just over R1000 for my Telkom Bill.

This includes all calls made during the month as well as my rental on a 512k ADSL line and Phone Line rental. (Excludes my ISP charges)

I was recently looking at the Telkom Closer Plan 5 option, but I'm not 100% sure how reliable it is.

As it stands, you get 1000min of standard calls, with Free calls during Callmore time up to an hour long. Included with this you get ADSL 1mb (4mb trial) all for R699.

That would be about a R500 saving.

I wanted to know if anyone has tried this option at all and if there are any strings attached to it?

I don't wanna be caught by Telkom again.

Plenty of threads about the closer plans - just do a search. Generally they will save you money and there are no strings attached. Just be aware that calls to cell numbers are excluded.

yip do a search......ive got it, and no strings attached afaik.....dont take the contract

Hmmm.. I see...I don't like the whole Cell Phone Number thing though...but I think its worth while...I will probably order it this week.

Another question, I am currently tied to an ADSL contract and I know that I can still upgrade it, but at a penalty price...does anyone know how much this could be?

Probably a lot, make you sure get the penalty charges for the contract in writing from Telkom if you do decide to upgrade it.
