Telkom Community launched - give your feedback here

I joined late yesterday. It atleast allows one to be in contact with CO [Charl / TelkomZA] and the team more closely :D.

Did they do this for legal reasons? Why not have partnered with uncle RPM and had their team in a dedicated subsection on mybb?

Using Lithium... you Telkom users are going to pay deeply for that.

They ain't cheap

Damn, I feel like I'm back in the Boy Scouts with all the "Badges" I keep earning

... Telkom's gone bit overboard with this, the KISS principle seems to have been overlooked.

So I should not hold my breath then?
Charl/TelkomZA was recently very helpful as far as he can, but there was a point where he also hit a wall. Then my question is what will this portal help with? It will only pretend they give a damn. They must rather fix there internal communication and the way they present and roll out products.
Attitude is certainly not helping. If I rock up at a Telkom shop and they don't know about a product that they supposedly advertising, and don't even care to help you, then this portal will do nothing. We get "Sorry sir, we do not have this", we should be getting, "Sir, I have not heard about this, but let me find out for you".

This is what Telkom absolutely excels in: Pretending to give a damn. They are the most experienced feedback trolls I have ever seen. They have a brilliant grasp on how to make it look like they are helping you and then doing absolutely NOTHING.

It is so good that people develop consumer Stockholm syndrome. When their customers eventually get helped by some off chance miracle, consumers think that Telkom has done them some huge favour, and they thank and praise Telkom profusely. This is after being battered, bruised and psychologically destroyed by Telkom's inability to perform the simplest of consumer services.

Very true. Even thse who have gathered a following for "assisting" are either going very little or doing what any employee can do, or are just faking it.

I think the community is a great idea. I've joined.

I know Telkom gets a bad reviews on service, but I have had exceptional service from them... perhaps I'm in the minority, but I think they can only improve their general service.

Some time back there were thunderstorms in our area and the lines went down. We needed the lines up for business, and they went out of their way to help me get our ADSL up really quickly. A temporary solution was put in place until the lines could get repaired and this helped us meet deadlines.

I don't recall the technicians name, but she was fantastic. Big thank you for Telkom Vereeniging.

"Telkom’s announcement comes after MyBroadband published an article about how difficult it can be to buy the company’s products."
A bit presumptuous that Telkom all of a sudden realised they needed this after MyBroadband published this articel... This has been in the making for a while for Telkom, but lucky article timing MBB!

LOL obviously Telkom will now have full control over the comments on their service and products on their community. if they don't like a post it can quickly be closed or locked or marked 'resolved'. Kind of like DSTV's portal. You waste your time by posting there.
