Telkom Data how to load it into my sim?

You can simply buy a pin-less or pin-based data voucher.

A pin-less data voucher is a pin-less form of recharge for pre-paid data bundles. The pin-less data voucher allows you to buy an electronic pin-less data voucher via Point of sale systems within the Telkom Direct Stores and flagship stores. You can then recharge with a data bundle directly without the need of recharging with airtime and converting the airtime to a data bundle.

A pin-based data voucher allows you to buy prepaid mobile services using a unique PIN. Buy an electronic pin-based data voucher and use the USSD command *188*PIN# and the data will be loaded on to the SIM card, unlike the traditional way where you buy an airtime voucher and convert it to data bundles.

I have done exactly that numerous times. I simply get taken to a menu which keeps telling me I have insufficient data.

I have the pin for 2gig data, I have the sim card inserted into my phone. How on earth do I put this data in?

Ok after the 10th time it now works. I'm thinking this doesn't work at 2 in the morning for some reason.

They had issues with their portal, now fixed, maybe it affected what you were doing as well.

Yup that's it. I could not log in to my portal despite perhaps 20 attempts even thinking I was going mad after a while because I was getting no errors or anything, it just would...not....log...in.

So I went and bought some data thinking I could just add it on my phone. Took the sim out of my dongle like I've done before, put it in my phone, did the *188# thing and even that just did the most unexpected thing......Nothing.
