if i can remember right i was paying R219.00 for a 3Gb telkom shaped account
post 1/11 a 3Gb shaped account from imaginet cost R195.00 and u dont have any cap u pay R65.00 per Gb after cap.
before november i dont think u could get any unshaped account for less than 4GB at R450.00+ now ucan get a 2Gb unshaped for R240.00 and then R130.00 per GB after u reach the cap.
I think thats enough to say that telkom has not screwed us over.
yes maby for the "abusers" it will cost alot. But do you realy need every anime movie ? for bussiness that need alot of bandwidth there is always that uncapped salution.
think again...
Is telkom realy screwing us? you people are only being feed the bad stuff about telkom and dont realise whatthey are realy doing.
Edited :
another thing most telkom account users should have found out now that telkom is basicaly uncapped. I am not sure how it works but i have used more than 30Gb for this month and still not capped. So dont go saying that telkom is screwing us blah blah blah before u check the real stats.

This man should learn his place! It is not his concern what the tone of a question is. He is there in a professional capacity and good form in this instance would have been to discount the question with facts. The truth is he couldn't do it and harped back to the "WE ARE TELKOM BUGGER THE REST!" mentality for defence.
We don't fall for it mr Matthyser! The consumers know the truth now, the cat is out of the bag. We are not below you (even though you might think that) but above you! We stand even higher than your shareholders for whom I feel very little sympathy when it comes to Rands and cents. If pleasing them means walking over me (the consumer) Telkom and you have another thing coming mr. Matthyser!
Smile! You are now in the spotlight. As are you mr White... yes, I know you are reading this. If not, then it gets reported to you... so go and report dear reporters! Tell your bosses that we are waiting for cheaper, better and faster services! Sooner rather than later would be nice.

4% of the subscribers are using around 50% of the network’s capacity. To ensure that the 96% receive a good quality ADSL service capping is essential.
“I am allowed to manage my service in a manner that best suits the needs of my customers. I am currently trying to accommodate those 4% of users.”
... Telkom have lied so much in the past, what make this any different? Show us proper figures!!! I believe nothing that comes out of that company. 2 weeks ago, they had to apologies for lying because of twisting facts.According to Steven White, Telkom’s executive for product development, 4% of the subscribers are using around 50% of the network’s capacity. To ensure that the 96% receive a good quality ADSL service capping is essential.
How many adverts have been withdrawn in the past 6 months. You are lucky that I was not there. You would NOT have taken offense to the TONE of my question, but rather my FOOT up your A$$.Rikus Matthyser, head of marketing for TelkomInternet, responded aggressively stating that he took offense to the tone of the question.
He added, “I am allowed to manage my service in a manner that best suits the needs of my customers. I am currently trying to accommodate those 4% of users.”
This new usage based billing system might benefit the lower end users only interested in email and a bit of surfing, but it will not do much to bring the enjoyment of true broadband to South Africans.
The way I'm reading things it works like this -anonymity said:Edited :
