Is it misleading to imply that you can have ADSL for R199 per month?

Because the advert is implying that you can get it for R199 pm. There's no fine print to say that you need to have an analogue line and all that schlepp in order to use it.

Also, the speed for the line is not stated. Is it 384k, 512k, 1Mb or 4Mb?

Do they say terms and conditions apply etc.. cause then it aint.

Take a look at the polka ad too. claiming you can download movies and mp3s 24/7/365

They are legally misleading us :) There are reasons they get away with this. People are misinformed.

No mention of terms and conditions applying in the polka ad either...

Just watched it. Says terms and confitions apply at the bottom of the advert at the end. While showing the price.

Then they changed it. Last one I watched didnt mention the terms and conditions bit
Probably got rapped over the knuckles

Can I sue telkom for racism.

Their one do broadband add I watched at the movies only had black people in it, a company that is supposed to represent the nation sure isnt representing me mr whitey.

DISCRIMINATION TELKOM.

I don't think it's really misleading.

The R199 includes 1 gig of data as well as the dsl 384K line rental.

The analog line rental is for your normal phone calls.

Most people here are well aware that the analog line rental is for your normal phone calls, however we have a problem with the fact that you can not have ADSL without this line rental whether you want to make normal calls or not, and that you are then forced to rent the same line a second time for ADSL.

As such saying ADSL will cost you R199.00 is not accurate since you can not have it without first paying an additional fee for the "normal" analog line.

I see what you're saying. But, telkom has at least come a long way in dropping their prices. But, how many people need just adsl without telephone.

Me, and many others.
But that is not the point. The point is, Telkom does not advertise that additional (double) cost.
