Anyone know if one is able to use an ADSL account from another ISP on Telkom branded (Netgear) routers or is the firmware locked to Telkom / DoBroadband ?

no its not, though my mweb router is still locked, its impossible to unlock 7401vgp, i tried it all, yes you can telnet unlock it and then dail accounts, but router actually support half bridge mode, when its not locked.
