I had no idea what to put for the title, but there's that dynamic software that syncs to your line and keeping noise 6db or better.

Anyway - for almost 18 months this would connect me at 18 or 19mbps and 6db. I notice today 16mbps and 11db noise, even after rebooting.

I miss my extra 2mbps ;) I know I've gained reliability, but wondering I can sync higher or could Telkom have increased the minimum noise threshold?

Easiest way I've found around it is to spoof the snr sent back to the DSLAM. If you have a modem with one of those broadcom chips you can set the target snr yourself. Check your router on the net and see if it has a target snr setting - you'll likely have to ssh or telnet into your router to do it though, and each time it resets too.

Her name is Assia, and she is not very nice at times. She tries to be nice, but she really wants to destroy you and make life as difficult as she possibly can ;) :D

I have noticed, when I was still on ASSIA. That annoying B!tch :D ,only bothers you when there's a slight line stability issue, other than that your line will run smoothly, except for the crappy high ping and some packetloss.

she is normally like that yes.. women are so loving when you not stable, those are the good women. :) the other women will dump yo ass if you are not Stable lol

my 10 meg line syncs at just above 9 megs, after ASSAI rocks up....given up, having it reset to 10 megs...after a couple of days ASSAI, does her thing...and I am back at 9 megs. There is no obvious line instability, for the decrease.

what are your speeds and latency looking like?

Max speed of just above 9megs and latency, below 10 ms.
I think you shouldnt worry about that then. Assia is always going to kick in to stabilise your line, and will sync your a bit lower i think. Unless you really struggling with line in terms of browsing, streaming etc then i would leave it as is

Yeah, that is why I just look at the max sync rate achieved...and go...way too much effort to get them to reset the port, to achieve 10+megs...only to have ASSAI adjust it downwards again.
