Telkom FTTH trial

Just realised that this means that our area should have VDSL since the FTTX uses MSANs.
Am I wrong to assume this? Telkom people I met installing more fibre didn't know anything about any MSANS in the area when I asked......
 
So....update
Firstly a big big thumbs up to Telkom techies. Absolutely awesome service. I had a problem that all went for a ball of s.....in terms of speed, 0.9 Mb/s download..
Seems there was a strange, first to be heard of on the trial, problem that had to be re-configured i.t.o my log-in, but I am up and running at full speed. 93-95 Mb/s
Did a couple of uTorrent downloads
1.64Gb movie in about 7-8 minutes, but torrents just have a varying download speed. Dropped and picked up constantly between 100kB/s to 3.5Mb/s download.
All else internet related pretty rapid:)
 
Tell you what, many people complain about telkom service.I reported a line and two days later on a PUBLIC HOLIDAY get a knock at my door and there is a telkom tech to repair my line.
 
That Pace 921VNX Is a real piece of crap, the wireless keeps on dropping and it has Telcum firmware on it. There is no stock firmware to flash and it is like the old Telkom black routers - just used for plebs but if you want anything more you have to replace it and get something decent.

I have seriously no idea wtf Telkom were thinking when they got these PACE crap things, even VDSL there are hardly any modems available and this is one of the very few.

what is the speed after using up the soft caps for FTTH?
