Hi all,

Just to share a bit of good news from Telkom that came my way out of the blue a couple of months ago. Telkom selected our complex as part of the fibre project, and the techies and all just finished installing and setting up everything.
The trial is a for a 2 month period, 100 Meg line with and additional 2Gb of data for the trial period.
New Pace router.
Obviously the fibre lines installed.
I have no idea how to post the speedtest image but the results look good!

Upload 9.52 Mb/s
Oh and ...(Faster than 99% of ZA)
 
Insane.

To post the picture, after doing the speedtest, there is a button called "Share this result". Click on that. Then click on "Forum", then click on "Copy". Then you can paste that in a post here, eg:

Do a real world test like downloading a Linux Distro.
 
The trial is at no extra cost
I still pay my normal monthlies based on 4 meg uncapped.
Nobody can tell me what the cost would be after the trial. But I suspect way more than I'll be willing to pay
 
Check your PM, David. I can't even get VDSL and you're rocking 100Mbit minutes from my house..
 
@David101: Is the fibre being strung along telephone poles or using existing underground conduits? Any pics of the installation would be greatly appreciated!
 
Would like to see cable going in your router etc and how your telkom box looks thats inside your home!
