Telkom International DOWN!

International browsing still down this am - no one at telkom internet has a clue as to when it may be restored (expected that response)

Is there anyone who has any idea as to what the problem is and when it may be rectified?
 
This is bordering on the insane. They're more down than the SA cricket team!
 
Aren't they supposed to pass us credit as we're not getting the service we paid for? I'm sure 90% of net users use it solely for HTTP...
 
I tried to reboot my modem, had to go to 10.0.0.2 to enable the bridge again, but the usual logon didn't work. Nobody is answering at ADSL support, so I'm online with my USB pots (ha!) and I cannot even get into the Shell website to plan a route - that's supposed to be a local site.

It's worse than the frequent power failures and water cut-offs we are having in this area.

Can you please post your location here when your international connection is still down or was down since last night? The previous time we questioned Telkom about an ADSL outage in JHB they denied that a whole group of customers were affected…

Some international sites are working but quite slow, most za sites are fine.
I've tried using another one of my ISPs but have the same problem.

Started yesterday and I still have this problem
 
Telkom International Down

Im in Bloem and have no access to International sites. Been down since yesterday afternoon. Just phoned Telkom ADSL support, they obviously know nothing, they told me to contact my ISP. Haha.:mad: Bunch of dumbasses
 
Hi, my international connection has been down since yesterday :( I live in Boksburg...

This is pathetic!!!!

I just phoned Telkom Technical Support...

There is a huge problem with the international line :eek: (might be Telkom sabotaging the SAT-3 cable before it gets taken away from them ;))

SAIX is working on the problem. They don't know how long it will take to fix...
 
Ah well - no web, but at least I can still play MUDs...

Bedfordview, Jo'burg - most international sites are down.

When they deny that there are more people affected, we must then insist of a reference number.

If its not Telkom's incapacity to supply proper ADSL service then we must treat each case as an isolated case and create fault after fault.

The problem here is that Telkom will refuse to log a fault for every client that phones, prove that they are aware of the problem.
 
Roodepoort also down since yesterday, Shareaza is slow but progressing, though eMule works fine
 
Telkom is in some pain

ADSL 384 just times out, but 3G manages to go out

Download Speed: 161 kbps (20.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 50 kbps (6.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
