Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Does the Tracert below indicate anything out of the ordinary?

I'm staying a relative's house and the speed is horrible, though he is on a 4meg connection.

I want to switch over to my afrihost account to test but I don't know his password for his dsl account, don't think he knows it either :(

I start mine at 00h10.

Never bothered with that, my reasoning being that all Telkom's kit (IT & Telecoms) run on synced clocks from a highly reliable source. I use NTP on my machines syncing to a Telkom time server (igubu.saix.net) so I'm not too worried that I might start a session slightly too early.

Torrents & nzbs are also made up of small 'pieces' and it's not like you are establishing a single connection for the duration of the whole file so even if you jump the gun a bit by a few minutes it's not gonna contribute much to your 'stats'. If however you use some other means to download where you establish a single session per download I could potentially see that being an issue.

I've never had an issue where I saw that my 00:00-06:00 downloads increase my green progress bar, on occasion I've also started like an hour earlier and even then it's not really an issue as it counts so little.

What do you guys think of this logic?

I feel your pain, I been having sluggish browsing the last week and a bit.
Speedtests to Jozi are perfect, but to Cape Town and Interntional I get resukts similar to yours if not worse.

I'm looking elsewhere now, this is growing thin on me. I have logged a call and it has been closed.
I expressly told the guy that called me to escalate it to Ti the ISP as its not a line fault, he said he would pass the call onto Ti.
2 minutes later I get an SMS stating my servcice has been restored

But judging from all the ISP threads on here I cant decide who to go to. All seem to have some issue or the other, all I know is I wont touch OW, Afrihost or Mweb!

Just checked my router stats for the past 24 hours... Not good actually...

I do apologize for the huge image. I'm uploading from my tablet...

Everyone seems to have their fair share of problems. For the most part, Telkom was good, not great, but decent enough. I'm a little tired of switching ISP's now, but if push comes to shove I suppose I'll have to. I won't go to MWEB on principle, but to be fair, when I was with them I didn't have any problems.

Last night I got 250MB down between 0-6am, now I'm getting a dismal fluctuating 50kB/s.

We get told to manage our downloads and it sucks in the allocated time. Did a 200MB torrent mid day and it came down at full speed but you can't do this all the time so where does this leave us?

And increase number two is coming from telkom, the more you pay the less you get.

Problem is which ISP do you go to? They all got people bitching about their service. I'm not interested in any business accounts as I dont think its worth it if you only pull between 100 and 150gigs on average per month.
Ti used to be great.
I stuck through all the slowness and silence about the real problem at the start of the year but I'm not gonna sit around again and wait 3 months for Ti to fix it or even get any sort of response

Now add an increase into the equation and Ti doesn't look as good as it once was....
