Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Also in Durban have only been able to get into Battlenet three times since Thursday. It keeps timing out. COME ON TELKOM, this is getting out of hand now.

I cant stream properly, I cant game......Hey wait, I got uncapped so I can download 10 bazillion emails only.

any new updates on when telkom is gonna fix this yet???

Getting similar stories, after about 10 hops.....Timeout, 100% packet loss. And this seems to be only Telkom .
 
Email Errors

Since Thursday:

"Unable to send or receive messages for the Telkomsa account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity."

Sometimes I get lucky and a message slips through before it times out. The rest of my mail is still sitting on the server :mad:

They have smtp issues as well.
 
There was a national problem one day last week with the smtp servers but I haven't experienced problems since, guess it's that 25% KZN problem you guys are battling with.

I'm still getting all my RBP emails from MyBB on a very regular basis! :p

Well there was a recorded message on the call centre IVR system on Saturday mentioning the email issue. I'm just repeating what Telkom said. I use gmail web interface so not affected.
 
Can you guys with email issues try something for me [if you guys haven't already].

Add this proxy in. I honestly don't know if it will make a difference but will it hurt to try :o

Why dont you get yourself a free Afrihost 1GB account and test it out? If you're just going to game on it, it should be ok to use for a few days while telkom sorts their **** out.

The only way I will do this is if TELKOM shall pay for that account. I am not spending another cent on internet, just because my current Service provider is not delivering.

I expect proper service when I pay for it. I understand faults happen, but this is more than a fault. It is an operational problem affecting 25% of users in on of the major Metropolitan areas in South Africa.

I also see there are guys like Ranger who have been very helpful with feedback, and make no mistake I do appreciate his efforts. I understand he is not directly responsible (so my venting is not directed at him), but as a whole I am very very unhappy with Telkom lately.

It was so freaking hard to try and type this without getting banned.
 
Hi, same issue on my side (not able to log into Battle.Net server). Spoken to Telkom technical support on Saturday, apparently there is still some maintenance to be completed with a due date of eod today (Morningside, Durban). She recommended that tomorrow morning I switch my router off/on tomorrow am, and should the problem persist I then log another call.

Just letting you guys know so you can try the same.

I feel you, frustrating my side too, hopefully the free accounts can easy some of that frustration. At least until the end of the month until you can move elsewhere (if that ends up being your decision).
