Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Am in DCUO and daytime it was great but i am trying to have a mini session :) and the lag is killing it for me :/. Seems to be exactly like it was during the past week, wonder what is going on?

Edit: Got DC'd from server twice which is a first as that hasn't happened at all to me. Means an early night :p.

This Nightsurfer Deal is the Biz Niz! Pulling full speed news and torrents through the night.

Pulled over a hundred gigs so far this month and the usage bar on TItracker is paralysed on 5 mm of green!

 Telkom Internet!

We built the Durban site in February with whatever hardware we could find the could do the job, and that build was always going to be temporary. The money saved on IPC due to going fo 3-site was enough to pay for upgrading the site to be on-par with Cape Town and Gauteng, and we were using all available interfaces on the routers, and have more transmission on order. Thus, we had funding and requirement to upgrade the routers.

Unfortunately, there are some issues when running two routers from different families from the same vendor, the bgp load-balancing doesn't work the same as when running two of the same (which was tue csse on Friday and Sunday). Unfortunately, due to limited space in the Durban site, there wasn't enough time in one night to migrate two routers, and due to the load balancing issue we ended up only being able to use about 66% of the IPC we pay for. We did try moving all links onto the new router, but then we lost some critical management access and didn't have time to troubleshoot (having spent too much of thr change window troubleshooting a hardware failure that occurred somewhere in the w weeks since some hardware was upgraded in Cape Town and shipped to Durban).

We didn't finish all the work we had planned, so there will be some re-work, but all the big-impact risky work was completed. But the Durban site is now finally complete and we are juat waiting for wholesale to deliver the transmission to finish the Durban improvements.

Centurion and Bellville I believe are still due IPC upgrades, their transmission should be completed by the end 9f this week.

So hopefully the Bellville IPC upgrade will fix my issues. Trying to stream an SD episode of the Simpsons since last week and it just keeps buffering.

Thank you ranger for that extra info :). Last night was pretty intermittent as far as browsing but all is good now.

Looking forward to the changes coming :).

Our biggest Telco can't handle an Apple update?
Wow!

Someone did an analysis when iOS 7 came out showing a substantial increase in internet traffic beyond the norm. I also suspect it is localized as my adsl is running at full speed.
