Well seeing as this is what this thread is about... Im not sure what the problem is...

EDIT: Heh lol sorry only got what you are saying now. Sorry mate reading into your post as a negative comment (bad mood blaming it on Telkom)

Problem is, service is inconsistent, streaming works, then it doesn't, gaming works then it does not, torrent downloads get throttled, uploads don't and so it goes, I have just bought Internet Download Manager, to get the content I want, then watch it uninterrupted. Unfortunately IDM, cannot sort out the gaming issues ...

Yeah I assumed it was my line, so I got that little one gig thing from Afrihost and all is well so line issues are out. So that must mean its Telkom being a bunch of douchecanoes and probably have all sorts of K@K going on on our accounts to stop us from streaming and gamng.
 
Streaming is definitely borked atm.

I'm on 10MB uncapped, international speed and latency is fine but iPlayer radio is really battling, where's ranger when we need him :cry:
 
I think the internal, or local network has higher capacity than what Telkom are provisioning for international capacity, other than the more normal issues of sub standard lines, congested exchanges, etc.
 
TI was basically useless on Sunday night. Last night at 7PM my line went down, internet and telephone. Logged a call and was told they will attend in 24-48 hours. Had similar issues in November and have all the text messages promising me a rebate for out of service. Wrote that off as I even logged a call for the rebate and nothing happened.

Paying for a product/service that does not work most of the time sucks.
 
Paying for a service that does not perform as advertised, and below specification, and performs erratically sucks ...
 
I wonder, what is the smallest/cheapest data package Telkom offers?

Is it possible to change from uncapped to this package, for the remaining 10 months of my contract, and getting an alternative ISP?
 
Things are really poor on Telkom for quite a while now and streaming is so intermittent, im using my capped account more than my uncapped and its got to the point where paying Telkom is not worth it anymore.
 
Completely the opposite for me, things are just working, watched The Witcher 3 gameplay earlier on YT in 720p no buffering at all, even Dstv catch up is working...

The cape has priority traffic now as far I know. Maybe Ranger can give us an update on IPC links.
 
poor internet performance on my 4meg line my son came just now to ask me to pause my downloads ,Not downloading was not even on the internet youtube cant play 360buffers.

Big Telkom fault affecting most ISP's unfortunately
 
Streaming TV was buffering like a mofo after 8PM. Had enough and signed up for an Axxess account. Now it is streaming like a mofo. Just got to the point where I could not live with TI anymore. This is obviously my last post here. Cheers TI.

Yeah...im done cancelling today cant deal with the BS anymore
 
3:30pm and the daily grind to a halt has started. 4meg uncapped.
I would gladly take a hit in speed if it meant that latency would be stable. Another fun evening....
