I think the issue is that they are already at Level 1?

I am also on FUP1 at 7pm and being throttled now. On the first day of the month... Downloaded the FF XV update today and now the 2mb line is being throttled to 1mb. Don't see how this is an improvement.

But where previously you would have had almost unuseable internet for days, now you just have slower internet.

For example, my 4Mbps account would have been throttled to 384k after 180GB of usage measured between 07h00 and midnight, now it will be throttled to 2Mbps only between 19h00 and 21h00.

Please note that there are other improvements for uncapped users coming soon which we can't announce yet, so we can't pass on the maximum benefits of price reductions just yet.

But you were content with what you had before, now that FUP enforcement is not as harsh/abrupt, you're upset?

That would be a defect ... not the intended change. My stock standard 4Mbps unvapped account is fine.

But, I will have a look at any accounts PM'd to me and if there seems to be a problem, ensure all accounts are audited and fixed ASAP.

I think perhaps communication between Telkom and the users are where the misunderstanding is. When people see FUP changes etc we automatically become anxious.
 
We'll from what I see, the intention and end product seem like a improvement to me, so thanks Ranger. Hope you get the kinks worked out ASAP.

Yes. It's not nice to be throttled at 7pm to 9pm on the first day of the month. I manage my usage not to get throttled until the end of the month. :(

Not moaning at anyone just upset that Telkom have done this. I really liked using SAIX as video streaming was always good, the same for international/local latency to game servers.

EDIT: Speeds have picked up and the warning overlay has disappeared.
Will see how things go until the middle of the month. :)

Are you saying there are price reductions in the offing?

Have to say I'm peeved that this 10Mbps combo promo @ R799 is only available to new/upgrading clients. I've been a 10Mbps uncapped user for a long time and am currently paying R999.

Hello Ranger , so what speeds are we looking at if we reach level 3 ?
BTW if we do reach level 3 our line is throttled between 7 to midnight, does that mean from 1am to 7am we'll have full speed ?
I'm so confused!
I don't want to abandon Telkom!
Please explain.
 
I need a little clarification. Does downloading after midnight not affect your limit with the FUP thing?

It's only the first day of the month and I've already been given a level 1 one warning. Telkom ADSL is quite expensive compared to some ISP's, I hope they don't eff over the customer with this new system.

Yeah it doesn't affect your usage , so the download marathon is about to start very soon
 
I've never been throttled before. My consumption has always been just under the threshold every month. If this FUP change has a negative effect on my experience, I'm out.
