Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

You have encountered a problem the trouble shooter is unable to resolve.

Please contact customer support. :p

Over the last 4-5 weeks I'm averaging three trips per week to the Telkom Store trying to sort this out.

Oh my! Are the Telkom reps on the forum unable to help?

You "found" it?

The URL where the tracker login page used to be now (has been like this for close on a year) has two icons, and above the first it says:

"Customer Portal

The Telkom Internet Customer Portal is our new solution to allow you to manage your Telkom Internet services, and will eventually completely replace the Usage Tracking Tool.

[URL=https://customerportal.telkomsa.net/portal]Go to the customer portal
'

All "external" links to tracker (e.g. from www.telkom.co.za) should go to this page too.
www.telkomsa.net and secure.telkomsa.net have had customerportal as the first link since the same time.

The topup landing page also points you to customerportal (with hints on where to find the topup functionality).

I am really surprised at how many users of tracker haven't found customerportal yet.

Did you bookmark the page you get to when you are logged off of tracker, or is there some other deep link everyone uses?

(There were - and may still be - reasons not to forcefully migrate users away from tracker, as there were features there for business customers that weren't available on customerportal yet)
Hip hip hurray!

There is 3Gb nightsurfer but no reference to the 2Gb simcard. Yet shows active and able to access internet via simcard.

That shows how much NightSurfer you have used (of effectively unlimited, which is why it isn't a gauge) on fixed-line. See the usage graph at the bottom of the Connectivity page (choose from the start of the month and check the cumulative checkbox. The difference between the cumulative and the values on the overview page is what you have used today.
They’re there when I log on via telkom.co.za.
That means the SIM is active on the Telkom Mobile network, but it must show on the Password page of customerportal (expand the TIN numbers to see all the services), otherwise there was no request from the 'fixed-line' ordering system (OMS) to the ISP to link the SIM to your TI account (TIN on OMS), which must be done for you to be able to authenticate on the TelkomInternet APN (which is required to use the TI data).

(There is a business process document with screenshots of everything the agent needs to do for all ISP-related products, if the steps there for TI Moole are followed, it always works unless there is a system failure, in which case the agent should log an IT request woth the details and someone will be able to resolve any failed orders).

That new page called TI SIM under 'Other Services' looks like it is intended to allow customers to link their TI SIM (that is visible on telkom.co.za/eservices) to their TI account. A feature like this has been in the pipeline for some time, and since I haven't seen an announcement for it, it may not work yet.

(I currently get a 'system error' when I log in to customerportal, but titracker works fine, and I only briefly saw the new page once and didn't play with it).

Is that this?

Can someone with an active IDS please confirm if your balance includes remaining bandwidth. When I log into telkom.co.za this is what I see, no indication of how much of my 2gb bundle I have left. Is WLAN the same thing?

I did that with the last SIM, it shows in the screenshot I posted, but I cannot browse. The guy from the shop suggested I try it, even printed out the instructions. I fee for the guy. He's put in a lot of effort and logged numerous tickets on my behalf.

No, that is telkom.co.za/eservices, and you have named that number 'IDS' yourself.

Please post what you see on customerportal.telkomsa.net on the Password page (and maybe under Other Services-> TI SIM).

If you go back, tell him he should look up your acccount on TIMT (if TIMT hasn't been phased out in favour of the agent-facing features in customerportal), which must show the SIMs. If he doesn't know what TIMT is, I'll send you a PM of what he can try next to get in touch wiyh someone who can help or point him to guides).
