Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Dead slow, the internet is unusable.

Unless there's an unusual issue somewhere that is not in fact the fault of Telkom, then:

This is really, really pathetic.

Useless.

And,

Highly annoying.

Not to mention,

A waste of money.

It's only in the evenings. Usually at 10 or 11 it goes back to normal.

Telkom are throttling us or limiting capacity but they aren't open about it.
 
My telkom line is down, JHB north, Is anyone else affected in the area? how can i check if the line has been reported down. busy logging a call.
 
Ran speedtest shows my 4meg uncapped running at 512 speed which i thought did not exist anymore.They say they have some issues with the weather but only started raining yesterday what do we do when winter starts?
 
**** - I hate these ****s. Over a week to get back to me only to tell me I can't cancel my line, and then someone else from another department will call me. ALL FOR A ****ING ISP ACCOUNT I CANCELLED IN FEBRUARY - and they're still charging me for it.

Jesus -these ****ers are beyond useless, I can only hope everything associated with the useless government burns to the ground.
 
I have been using the Telkom account again for a few days now. Why does my line resync at exactly 18:05 and 02:05 everyday?

This has happened without fail since Thursday.

It maxes my 4mb line, 425kB/s.

If I set it to 1 connection I get 130kB, so I would assume it will do 130 x 5 = 650kB/s.
 
Yet again, simply put browsing and streaming are next to useless, while NNTP is maxing out at 413 kbps :confused: (edit: I assume it's the SSL connection)

However to add to my post about Telkom Internet changing the usage thresholds, it looks like they haven't I've done over 203 GB (On a 4 Mbps Uncapped Account), which is ~63 GB more, while still keeping the bar green in the centre of the window. Looks like I was just a bit paranoid.
 
What is the new usage threshold for the 4Mbps Uncapped?

I've done 246GB for the month and I am in the orange. So I am being managed.
I thought the threshold was like a 100GB higher.

Don't they only manage you if you hit the "red" bar ?
