There has been some debate recently about how Steam downloads are classified by the various ISPs, the general consensus is that they’re viewed in the same light as torrents - best to schedule them during nightsurfer.

Telkom phoned this morning to ask if I'd like to upgrade to 10mbps uncapped or softcap, thought I'd give softcap a try since I schedule downloads for night surfer anyway. Will pop the r50 gaming add on too. Should be able to get 800gb a month.

My speeds are pretty dismal also .
Also also my internet was down yesterday now it keeps dropping .

Why don't you use Usenet? Much faster!

1mb line down, 0.25mb up. That looks very low, you must have a line fault.

I find it less stressful by just going online and logging a fault instead of torturing yourself with 10210

I do normally use Usenet this is the 1% of the time where I needed to use a torrent, and even now it's still not done

Well I'm sitting on 269 gigs for the month, nearly all downloading done after hours. Rather happy with that.
I'd love to know how much can be done in the day if no downloading was done between 12 and 7am. 50, 75, a 100 gigs?

PM TelkomZA as well. They're pretty sharp resolving these types of issues.

Definitely something messed up in CPT. I'm in PE, and couldn't even get a speedtest to load. Ping is through the roof.
Switched over to the Joburg DNS server, and things are fine now.

Had no luck with 10210
Landline was Down
friday .. Telkom Shop phoned got fault number
Now that was Soo good NO holding
Internet came back on this morning at about 4AM
Landline was Sqiking but was not dead .
Now getting full line 4meg speed
