Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

I really wish I could boast consistent uncapped speeds :-( You guys are really lucky. Guess Cape Town Nothern Suburbs and Strand areas are just buggered.
 
Line seems to be acting like a 1 mb rather than a 2 mb. Surely after 10 PM, I should have been getting close to line speed.
I get good speeds in the morning though but unfortunately work prevents me from spending quality time with the internet.

Yep, nightsurfer applies to all accounts. If you're lucky enough to get 20Mb in your area, go for it. You can do a helluva lot during the 7 hour nightsurfer time, but again it's dependant on whether TI is working well. Recently it's been an even balance of good and terrible, so be advised.
 
Why is it that certain people always have issues while other are styling? My torrents are even fine during the day.
 
Well I've been using a friends account for a few days after my current ISP screwed the pooch (friend has his copper stolen in is neighbourhood, so he cant use it, :mad: for him :) for me )

Anyhow, im very happy with the way things went on the "loan" account, I cancelled with my current ISP yesterday and will come jump into the darkness in a few weeks.

since Monday on "loan" account gaming was a pleasure, no issues during the day, Steam, Uplay, Origin downloads running smoothly, and then at night after 23:00ish, line speed:D .


*as a side note, how does one manage that green soap bar, on uncapped the less you DL in peak the less the bar will move?
 
Assisted a friend with installing his ADSL today.
ADSL was installed (nice turnaround from Telkom)

Technician states "If you utilize Telkom as your ISP, we will continue to upgrade your ADSL to new profiles as they become available, and your bill won't change"

Bull**** ?
 
Does anyone how to order Telkom Smart home deals online? I'm interested in the Smart home supreme deal and I want to order online because they give 20% off for the first 3 months if you order online.

I've tried calling the sales call centre but they don't know. I tried the Telkom self service but they don't list the Smart home deals there. Is there a Telkom representitive on the forum that could help?

I also have No problem downloading during the day .
Torrents that have Thousands of seeders

Go super Fast..
But after a week of only 600mg ect that Torent refused to move during daytime .
 
Internet has been down since the power cut in Cape Town. Currently using the afrihost prepaid. Is anyone else having an issue ?
 
Thanks, it is working again. On a side note, all of these power cuts must be doing a bit of damage to the equipment throughout the country.
