Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

I can't connect to Telkom, line is sync'ing properly. :( Anyone else having that problem in Buffalo City? I can dial up using my afrihost account so I assume its Telkom Internet.

EDIT: It connected now :) Not sure what happened.

Were you using the same method on both connections (e.g. both from the modem)?

There have been some problems with some models of modem when reconnecting after a power failure if the DSLAM is connected to a BNG.
 
Ah here we go again. Download speed of 0.2 on 2 meg line. Tested with vox account and get the same speed so definitely something wrong my exchange, again.... uploadfromtaptalk1423382188890.jpg

Not sure what you expect ranger to do about exchange congestion, it's a TelkomZA problem and nothing to do with TI.

I expect someone from Telkom to help sort this out. I pay for the service, they should give it.

Maybe he can escalate this with other people, I hope...

No he can't... not on the exchange congestion issue. ranger is here in his private capacity, for which we are very grateful.

So ranger, who is not an official TI or Telkom rep but simply a MyBB member, is expected to carry the can for all Telkoms sins. No wonder his posts have dwindled.

Well I have escalated this to telkomza on Friday, have yet to receive a response that something is being done about this. Calling the call centre is useless as we all know.

+1. I "got" this from the day he joined and introduced himself, but many others seem to have a problem getting their heads around the concept.

People also seem to forget that Telkom (adsl) & Telkom Internet (isp) have to operate as 'seperate' entities else you would have other isps foaming at the mouth and getting the competition commission involved. ranger cannot help with adsl related issues as it's not his domain.
 
Fark I'm wading through molasses here. Dialup would probably be faster right now & I'm just trying to browse, sigh.

I feel you.... Things have really gone downhill and fast from say 29th January.... I was forced to get a Openweb capped unshaped account and although I do not like Openweb uncapped at all their capped accounts is not bad at all. So much so that I can watch twitch tv and stuff in hd and best of all actually play league of legends without problems....

Come on Telkom I mean 10Mbps uncapped with you guys costs me like R999 but the performance is much to be desired....

Moved from Vox to Telkom softcap to Telkom uncapped and now looks like I will just be sticking with Webafrica capped or Openweb capped accounts. IS is just the best backbone. You just don't have any problems.
