quick question, on do Uncapped Premium Plus (uncapped 10mbps), what is the threshold before throttling / shaping kicks in?

Used to have the same package. If I'm you ill wait until the upgrades are done. My 10meg was more like 4meg except from 00:00 to 07:00

Yes you should be able to stream 720p on 2Mb/s line just fine. Use to be able to do that but not any more, now even 360p is an issue and the problem lies squarly with Telkom Internet.

The why don't you leave them and go to a decent ISP?

I can't see that we can possibly be introducing any issue on our side (at least since about Wednesday/Thursday).

There may of course still be some problem you don't see on other ISPs (e.g. SAIX intl), but it would help if you provided more info.

Video will start (or sometimes you get that snowy error screen telling you there's a problem) and after a few seconds it will just sit there and buffer for a very long time, start again only to start buffering a bit further down the line again. earlier this afternoon I started watching a video and playback was fine for once which is the exception. There are some others from kzn that also mentioned streaming is really bad if not useless for them. This happens on both my laptop & desktop, windows or linux. Download speeds I cannot complain about, the streaming is a pain though.

Last two weeks i've been getting slightly higher pings towards exchange than normal, so far have tried everything from different router, pots filter cables etc with no luck

It's a constant 40ms-45ms higher than it should be, no spikes during peak times or drops when its later.

makes gaming very difficult.

Would appreciate feedback.
 
Anyone having issues in the Western Cape region? We had some rain in PE last night, but the connection was stable. This morning though, I haven't been able to connect.
Also is anyone else having issues with the titracker? It won't accept my login details.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, it's very strange. I have my login credentials saved so it auto fills, yet the titracker site says they're incorrect. I've tried typing them out as well...

Gonna apply for a free account on one of the other ISPs and see what happens.

Okay, so I got a free account from Crystal. My connection is fine, but it would appear that my Telkom account has disappeared off the face of the earth. It doesn't register on the Titracker or on the SAIX ADSL stats page.

Have any suggestions as to who I can contact? This is very strange... I was downloading fine last night at 3am when I went to sleep. Some how between then and now, something major happened. Two days ago I was on the middle of the bar on the titracker, it was still green, so it's simply impossible with a 2mb/s that I could've downloaded so much that my account got revoked.
 
As the CW test account is working I assume your line is with Telkom and working.

Try your login details at TI webmail, if that works then your account is still active - http://webmail.telkomsa.net/

Also try the "chat to an agent" or log an ISP fault at http://www.telkom.co.za/myservices/

The webmail didn't work, although this account is very old, and I never used their email service anyway. The login details may be different.

I tried their live chat. Well...classic Telkom. It's funny how different it is to Crystal Web's. I managed to get the guy to check the status of the account, he said that there's nothing wrong on his side. Then I sent him some more messages, saying that maybe a port reset is in order. Waited 10 minutes, didn't get a response and was disconnected.

Classic! I'll try again.

So since Saturday I've noticed I'm only getting 2 meg speeds on a 4 meg line. Any advice on how to fix this?
