Is there any problems in KZN? (Kloof Exchange)

Last two weeks i've been getting slightly higher pings towards exchange than normal, so far have tried everything from different router, pots filter cables etc with no luck

It's a constant 40ms-45ms higher than it should be, no spikes during peak times or drops when its later.

makes gaming very difficult.

Would appreciate feedback.

I can't investigate myself, have you logged a fault (e.g. online)? If so, when? If you have anf it was more than 2 days ago, I will see if someone can escalate it.
 
Can you elaborate? What speed is your modem synching at? What speed do you get on a speedtest? Can you provide a traceroute?

Modem is syching at 4 meg.

Logged a Fault online two weeks ago when i noticed issue and after not getting through to 10210 initially, as yet waiting for a ref # to even track fault

Made a ticket again this morning, thought ill give it a go again, again .... not even a ref # but says submitted

I still can't stream for schite. Everything else is fine.

Time to start a new thread requesting experiences from other kzn ti users & logging more faults.

Yes, no problems with other ISPs .

Ended a TI session at 06:55, "login incorrect" errors when trying to reconnect. Currently up with CW.

Yes - It sometimes takes 2 hours or longer to authenticate a Telkom account whereas my IS account authenticates immediately. This happens 3-5 times a day.
 
Anybody experiencing authentication problems in the northern suburbs of CPT?
 
Yeah I had Auth issues this morning too (JHB) took about 20 minutes to allow it to go through.

Did notice that a couple of times it did Auth my username and password and gave me an IP address and then the remote side would terminate the connection and everything would start all over again.

I'm currently having DNS issues, can't seem to connect to half of the web at the moment. Yes I am using the defaults that are supplied on the connection.
 
Hi

I got Telkom ADSL last week. It worked great for a few days, got constant 3.6MB on a 4MB line. However, I went away for the weekend and when I came back Sunday it has been topping out at 1.8MB. Restarted router and reconnected dozens of times.

The connection also goes dead about twice an hour for about 2 mins. It then automatically reconnects itself.

I have heard something about bandwidth upgrades. Is this expected behaviour or is something wrong with my account/line?

I have the uncapped 4 MB package with the Telkom assigned router.
