Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Telkom LTE is also suffering an outage. Looks like the whole of Telkom network.

Cable Break?

Looks like faulty hardware at the NSBC data centre? Perhaps SAIX is having a wobble?

Earlier my PPPoE connection was registering something like 500-800ms pings to telkom.co.za. Shutting things down for 15 minutes solved that problem, but now there's whatever this is.

Seems to affect International bandwidth as well.

On speedtest (not that I believe it at all), local speeds are wow, amazing, unbelievable in fact, get full 10meg line speed even though on normal local browsing speeds seem to only peak 30k. Youtube is full tho, briefly (still bad pings tho)......select international, half of that and upload is also half. Oh scratch that, just couldn't load mybroadband either, only some content appearing then stops. Not router, its brand new and have tested others too.

This is weeks now...

Update: Just checked another ISP, also high ping rates and slow speeds... is this hardware issues then at exchanges?

Just saw your post, yeah, seems possibly hardware somewhere. Ouch... hopefully this is fixed asap, this is pretty bad service (overall, as it seems its multiple ISPs).

packet loss for days

sitting at a cool 30% I mean really how am I expected to enjoy anything let alone online gaming with 30% packet loss

Is anyone still suffering these issues? Some other providers are reporting that they're under DDoS attacks, and it looks like we're seeing similar things on TI. It would explain why the experience improves for a little bit and then goes to hell for a bit and comes back in a few minutes.

Durban here, yeah still issues. I've been monitoring the AS routing and there is certainly some odd stuff going on. We've been rerouted via a dodgy russian route and Brazilian route as well. Routing seems to be getting changed almost by the second is some instances. So if they are getting DDOS'd I guess they maybe trying to find a route that will lose the DDOS attackers? I also saw another reason to switch so much is to find a cheaper route... Is there article saying they getting DDOS'd? Thanks CataclysmZA.
