Well, things are back to normal here. I'd say from around 7pm or just after. I can only assume that I was being heavily shaped until that time. Hasn't happened before, so not sure what to make of it. Didn't reset the router or anything. It just seemed to sort itself out.

Buffering that vid on a 4mb uncapped TI line, think I'm throttled, fair enough I have been one greedy bastard!

Internet foobard...

Speed tests are good, local and international. Internet feels slugish tho and most sites take a while to load. News is very bad, limited to 1meg on 4meg line. Started happening from 8am. Check my graph.

My usage is in the bottom third. Whats going on?

I've done 24gb this month on a 4mb account, so its definitely not that I am throttled :(

I take it back. It's all fallen to s#!t again. +/- 18kbps on http dl's, vids buffering on 240p YouTube. Usage says I'm still in the green, so not sure what's up.

I'm on 4 meg and this is what I'm getting to the local server with this site's speedtest. I'm not anywhere near to being throttled my bar stops by the U of Normal user.

Test conducted on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 8:04:14 PM

Download Speed: 692 kbps (86.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 250 kbps (31.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 274 ms

Strange.

Internet browsing is useless.
Even this forum takes ages to load.

Speedtests however show that I am able to download at 10Mbps, even though I am on a 4Meg line.
Torrents download at a full 10Mbps.

No, not an official one, bet we have someone from Telkom lurking around here. Ranger is the semi sort of non-official rep here.

Streaming is rather silly tonight. HTTP downloads is just as bad.

Streaming has always been iffy for me, now it's less than pathetic.

Switched to Telkom just over a week ago and have had nothing but trouble since then.
Have to reboot my router twice a day and call them all the time for port resets\ recreation.

Today I'm getting 25%of my usual speed on a 2mb uncapped line.
As at 21:31, I have been on hold with no response for 12 minutes 30 seconds.
At least their hold music is marginally less ****e than that old flute tune they used to stick us with...

What brilliant service!
After holding for 13 and a half minutes I get someone on the line that tells me he can only check my line's sync speed and that I have to call the ADSL department if I have problem with line speed.

After a frustratingly circular argument with this particular genius (I think his name was Samo) never mind - here's how the conversation went:
Me: My line's at 25% speed
Him: You need to call ADSL department
Me: Let me guess - they're closed.
Him: Yes
Me: That's convenient, so you're saying I need to go the rest of the night on a degraded service?
Him: You need to call the ADSL department
Me: But they're closed.
Him: Yes, but you need to call them because I can't do anything about your line speed.
Me: So I've just got to keep paying for a degraded service?
Him: You need to call the ADSL department
Me: Have you gotten a lot of other calls about this tonight?
Him: Yes - most people are complaining about this tonight.
Me: So that means that there's a general issue - should that be escalated to a technical team?
Him: You need to call the ADSL department
Me: If there's a general problem that's affecting your customers shouldn't this be escalated?
Him: Yes - You need to call the ADSL department.
Me: Can I speak to a manager?
He put me through the ADSL department whose office hours are until 21:00.

F--- this sh--, I'm moving back to MWEB
