That's what confused me. The way I always understood it was that the line speed upgrade from 4mbps to 10mbps will be free, but that we'll have to pay for the Uncapped account speed to be boosted up.
 
I saw in an article the upgrade from 2mb to 4mb will be an extra R89 a month. Not sure if that's for the uncapped portion or the line speed.

As far as I understand, the line speed upgrades is free. So that R89 is probably for the uncapped portion.

Yeah, just looked it up:

“The price, in fact, has gone up with R35 (R329 – R364) on the 1Mbps Uncapped service and R89 (R459 – R548) on the 2Mbps Uncapped service. This is an increase of 10.6% and 19.3% respectively,” Telkom Internet said.

Are these uncapped upgrades automatic? So I will automatically be billed R89 more?

I have been checking torrents / Usenet downloads; and I have yet to see torrents running faster than 25kB/s (during the day, even after 10PM) since I joined 1 November on TI. Also, news server runs slow as well. Even over this weekend torrents have not been running fast, Usenet ran @ 150kB/s max last night.

All these other people running full speed 24/7 on these accounts ... how privilaged you are!

On which line? And does you HTTP and speed test results reach full line speed?

I see you from Gauteng, it seems these slow torrents seem to be affecting GP and KZN. Guys from CPT and PE dont seem to be suffering the same fate as us.
I find my NZBs are running pretty good during the day, most time maxing out, but torrents are dreadul even after 00:00am :(

4MB line, 2MB uncapped. Speedtests vary from 2.1MB to 2.6MB. HTTP downloads run at 300kB/s :D Torrents between 10 and 30kB/s :(

2Mb line,

Yes HTTP downloads at ~210KB/s most of the time, including Steam downloads... its just the torrents / NZBs, oh and HIGH pings (600ms+) during week evenings on Heroes of Newerth (although this weekend it was 250ms).

Seems TI is shaping torrents quiet heavily now. This past weekend torrents reached a max of 30KB/s during the day, but this morning from 5am I was getting close to max line speed.

This looks like its gonna become the norm sadly.
I guess we'll have to start resorting to nzbs full time now

Again, I have been saying this for the last few days: not everyone is getting decent download speeds on NZBs as well.

I want your elusive internet, because my TI is not the same as your TI :(

Actually I'm very unhappy with Telkom, they are giving me crap internet, seems since start of the month, everything everyone was talking about this wonderful account has dissappeared, and then they also don't bill me correctly. I have been talking since Wednesday last week regarding my new TI 2mb uncapped account on 10210, a dispute has been logged. Just phoned them at 13:30, the dispute is still 'open'. Getting incorrectly charged for the bundle, at the price I have been given when I joined 1st November, and that is even before the 25% discount.

Just makes me wonder why I was the idiot that actually thought all these things talked about on this forum were true. Telkom is Telkom after all :(
