Think its time to start looking elsewhere - I'm tired of the continued lies and no action from Telkom. And not a **** am I giving one months notice on this pathetic product.

This month has been hectic for them but lets hope we get a response later from ranger. Edit: mean't to say hectic for both us and them. Not taking sides here o_o.

No offence to ranger but there have been fixes every weekend which have done nothing (according to varioues tech's that have phoned on Fridays) - in fact, its gotten worse. I can't pay almost R1,000 for this.

Contacting Telkom through various platforms also get you nothing except an "escalation" - which basically is code for "we're doing nothing"

EDIT: I cant even get the Telkom site to load, irony.

...and just like that I'm streaming again... my 1988 VW was more reliable. Went to bathroom - came back - and I can stream video and connect to the office.

Speeds were quite k@k here as well. Rebooted the router. Back to normal. That's 3 times already from 6.30am to now.
 
lol, just came to have a moan about the crap speeds, continuous dropping of the line etc but see everyone is doing it already! :)

Dota 2 ping is now sitting at ~800 ms (http://postimg.org/image/nuencymm1/) yet when I tracert it the latency seems fine:

This could be an issue regarding shaping of the port?
The game runs on UDP, port 27020

A friend says he also getting very bad latency in Minecraft also.

If anyone has some graphs on SAT-3 past few hours, please paste a snapshot here. I suspect (purely guessing) that a repair ship is needed to go fix something :p. Hope am wrong though.

Am grabbing a YT video now, it is downloading between 6MB - 8MB which isn't bad but can be better. Wonder what is going on.

Will try to find that website that showed traffic on the undersea cable (can't remember if we the public had access to it :) ).
 
For some reason Speedtest.net is giving good results (int too), however my browsing is totally skrewed :(
 
So got back yesterday from 2 weeks overseas. I had my downloads setup while away.

Current combined usage is 484GB and speeds are not yet affected.

Speed test result on 4meg account with an 8meg line speed:

The graph shows how the download goes at 220kbps for a split second and drops to 50kbps and then 0kbps repeatedly - although I am not quick enough to capture the utlity window when the speed peaks at 220kbps... it peaks and drops too quickly. (Kind of like it does when you use the free download option from Rapidshare - which is how they throttle you to convince you to sign up) That is on a 4mb Telkom account. Amazing! This is what I am getting from Telkom in exchange for the hard earned cash I toss into their bank account once a month. This is Telkom's commitment to better service in action right here!

Seems TI is down completely now. Line is syncd, account is connected but everything 404's. I cannot believe this :banghead:
 
Same here, says I'm connected and have internet access but everything is dead.
Have to use my free Afrihost account.
 
another patch...? patch 50 of 5000?? Seriously...paying for a service, that at is not working...the customer will be at the centre of our business, what is your business actually TI? My dl speed has been crap the whole week, you try and call support...switch off the router, switch it on again....or nothing seems to be the problem, on our side...
