I'm beginning to believe that report that came out last week, indicating that our average download speed is 0.3Mbps.
Luckily I do have an Afrihost account as well.

We have received several "due dates" the last month or two. The last one was "by the end of the month".
That has come and gone and I do not see improvement in my account.

Kirkwood 4Mbps.

Fibre breaks aren't under our control.

We ordered redundant capacity with our original IPC order. In January we were informed that it wouldn't be available until June, and many other factors (including arrangements with internet authorities) meant we couldn't delay migration. The redundant links were supposed to be provisioned by last week so we could bring them up the past weekend, but that didn't materialise. This is the place where competitors would blame Telkom Wholesale for impeding their business and consider a lawsuit or complaints to regulators.

Yes Ranger, I accept all that and it it is obvious from the time stamp of your posts that you and the team are working crazy hours.

It is just soooo frustrating that for months now the account is not running great and seemingly terrible most of the time for the last month.
Then when I jump to a backup account, I can in an instantly do what I can't do with my Telkom account and I can do all of it at the same time.

My backup account is just that. It is not there to replace my main Telkom account.
I have no desire to go to another ISP and it almost hurt that another account is more reliable and performs better than Telkom.

I have a 3GB GT6 download on my PS3 that I must do today. I'm scared to attempt it, because I will probably download 20GB in my 17 attempts. That is how bad TI have been lately.

Telkominternet - why do I have to pay for something that is NOT WORKING! Why am I forced to give a month notice if the problem is on your side?!

Streaming highlights fine on a capped account on the 10Mbps line at the office. Will test other accounts (2Mbps, 4Mbps uncapped) shortly.
@ranger: any feedback regarding the supersport streaming? I am on the 2 meg uncapped package. It buffers every minute or so.

Local speedtest on 2mb Uncapped. Latency is crazy !

Download Speed: 1669 kbps (208.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 409 kbps (51.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 182 ms

Was back to normal this morning now up sh*t creek again, probably another month of wasted dosh down the drain thanks telkom.Maybe thats why you are telkom pty limited as in limited usage.

2 months in with TI and can't really complain.

Speeds are back to normal after being throttled for the last week of June.

Streaming YouTube on the PS3 without any problems, but latency is still quite high for whatever reason :-/

I understand your fustration but as you can see, they sorted an IPC link that went down very quickly, i don't know the technical know how to get that back up but am sure without these knowledgeable individuals, we would be without internet for a much longer time.

I ask you to follow the following steps if you are having issues. This was posted by ranger (our unofficial telkom rep :) ) right here.

So, for any of the issues I have been looking at for users here, please:
1)Send an email to [email protected]. You should receive an auto-reply with a ticket number. Please include your internet username, the telephone number of the ADSL line you are using, and sufficient technical detail (the better the quality of the information, the better your chances of a quick resolution), e.g. traceroute, URL of a speedtest result indicating the problem etc.
2)If you don't have a resolution within 2 business days, or if it is really urgent, include the ticket number from (1) in a message to @TelkomZA on twitter or TelkomZA on Facebook

If you don't come right then post here. If you go back a few pages, you will see that the Social team are super duper good (with 1 or 2 times not responding quick enough) :p.

Thanks for quoting this I must have missed it. I have sent them an email; I hope to get this resolved soon. It's a bit of a mission to change providers.

League of legends 800ms ping..............
buffer buffer buffer on a 192k shoutcast radio stream

Cancelling my account soon if it does not get fixed which I doubt....

Has the "tubes" gone for a ball of chalk? My pings for WOT are now in the 550-650 range, which means I can't do crap all in that game, and I suck even with a normal ping of 350 :). Also having pings in the 800-1200 range for Neverwinter is not good either.

Just ran a quick speedtest and this is what I get local (2Mb) :
Download Speed: 886 kbps (110.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 410 kbps (51.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 181 ms

International :
Download Speed: 1210 kbps (151.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 376 kbps (47 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 361 ms

Please tell me that this is just a minor bump in the road.

Well bought a 384k uncapped account from plugg.co.za now so I can at least play some league of legends........ Getting 200ms with this 384k uncapped account in League of Legends

All good here as well. Of course, I'd be surprised if we're not back on here complaining later on or tomorrow.
