I don't feel so bad now...

The strange thing is in the mornings and during the day my connection is fine. I'm thinking about giving up and going back to the 2mb account where I had no issues at all.

Done about 13GB for the month so far....
Absolutely frustrating.

We made no changes during last week. One thing that changed of course, with no manual intervention, is the month.

So, it may be that users of any ISPs with month-aligned enforcement or quotas who are now running at full speed may be congesting your dslam.

We did see a spike in traffic exactly on month change-over, but there was no visible impact come peak hours. It could still be something on our side, but it is probably best to run the dslam congestion test when you experience high latency or slow speeds first.

Hey. I was wondering if someone could help me. I just upgraded for a 2 to 4meg account. But it seems that I have a massive DNS problem. I read in some previous post that someone else also had the same problem. But can't find it now. So can anyone help me out so I can set the dns addy statically?

edit: I think it just fixed itself???

My tracert ttl's are hundreds but browsing, torrants, streaming and usenet have all gone to $h!7.

Router is connecting at full speed.

Speedtest is ok

Thx for the feedback Ranger.
Not sure what is going on.
Browsing is really slow. Some pages will at times not load or not complere the load process. Pages like Kalahari, Face Book, Takealot, My own racing forum, Banking, various Linux forums over the world are all bad. Disconnections from PSN and strugeling to logon again.

I don't have download issues though.
Speedtest and traceroutes are returning good readings.
Will check for malware, although my Linux pc and netbook also strugle.

Strange that I too was and am experiencing DNS failures....
At times even unable to resolve google...

Surely something on the ISP side, as we get our dns assigned from you?

At the moment I can't open any web page.
It just telks me that the web page is not available.

I'm posting from my cell phone.

my PSN downloads kept failing so I configured it with an open DNS... without wanting to jinx it.. it seems to be working since I assigned those DNS servers.
Once it completes I will post here for you to add to your router, as will I.

still going.. small update.. 627MB but kept failing on about 20%...
currently on 56% after changing DNS server address.

75% now
completed first time without an error...
After countless attempts for days now.
