Telkom Internet Uncapped User Feedback.

Wtf did you guys do? Can't open sites, youtube videos don't even start buffering and go straight to completed (used the one mentioned above).
 
I've got 3x 2GB files coming in from WeTransfer at full line speed. Things have been ok on my side since late weekend.

We haven't been changing anything. Google has.

What DNS are you using? If Google DNS (e.g. 8.8.8.8), please use any SAIX DNS, e.g. 196.43.46.190 for Cape Town or 196.43.42.190 anywhere else.

For KZN, use 196.43.42.190

Got some feedback from TelkomZA that changes were made over the weekend.

The last few nights since I arrived back home from travels have been perfect.

Will continue to monitor but thumbs up to support in the meantime !
 
So whats the consensus? I'm with Mweb 1MB uncapped at the moment and thinking of moving to Telkom 2MB uncapped because they are R100 cheaper for the same product.

I use it for Xbox and downloads

When it works, it works great, when it doesn't ... well, you get the picture. To be fair, it's more good than bad, for me personally. Others may have the opposite to say. I'm on a 2MB Uncapped, and so far the experience has been satisfactory overall. Had a bit of a crap week with the service last week, but after this past weekend's changes, things are great again. Give it a try. At this point, anyone is better than MWEB, from what I've seen.
 
Hi Ranger

BBC iPlayer is hanging tonight when I use the TI auto assigned DNS servers:

primary DNS address 196.43.54.190
secondary DNS address 196.43.38.190

(my local IP address 105.225.12.208)

Switching to the SAIX manual DNS servers you recommended in post #4326 http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/369314-Telkom-Internet-Uncapped-User-Feedback?p=10994535&viewfull=1#post10994535 seems to have resolved this.

primary DNS address 196.43.46.190 (Cape Town as I'm in PE)
secondary DNS address 196.43.42.190
 
Still downloading torrents at 10 kilobytes per second. Well done Telkom.

720 p on 4 meg uncapped. though i watched the video on my vodacom account so not an issue any more. all other videos I loaded yesterday worked fine
