Well I've been on TI for 2 or 3 months, and it's been an extremely bumpy ride, when things go well they go very well. There was a time in the beginning when I could d/l torrents at full speed during office hours. Sadly those times seem long gone, even after hours its a battle.
As to the question regarding a proper ISP, I have no idea, none seem to be able to handle the pressure for very long...

Been there, done that. They shaped EVERYTHING down to unusable speeds during office hours. That's not just torrents, it was so bad that I couldn't even open webpages.
Then I complained, and got told that if I'm unhappy I should get an unshapped account. When I complained about that, I got directed to the how to cancel page.
For the love of all that is holy, why are my torrent speeds non-existent, floating around 0-5kB/s downstream while upstream it's pumping. Between 12am-6am it's not great anymore either. And it's not a matter of low seeder to leacher ratios either, these torrents should come down at full line speed.
Thing that bugs me is why are some people's torrents going harry flatters 24/7 while mine chokes and no it's not dslam congestion as confirmed by the telkom reps here. Why is it that my traffic is being shaped to schit while others get full line speed, I use to get full line speed 24/7 but now I'm just getting shafted. I've only been in the red or throttled once before as well. Something stinks!

It looks like the KZN and GP regions are getting shaped to shyte with torrents. I been finding my torrents are very erratic, they start off well and after 5min they drop to as low as 5kB/s.
Today was really bad for torrents, couldn't exceed 10kB/s, so I kicked off some NZB's to get my series fix and they were running quite well.
Hows NNTP on your side?
Same here, HTTP and Youtube are not an issue but torrents are dead in the water!
What region are you from Pooky?
I don't use nntp, I should probably install sabnzb and try my old astraweb account or what's left of it.

Give it a go, I doubt torrents are gonna return back to how they were, its been weeks now and they still f'd.

TI has been awesome so far and I'm going to be optimistic that things will return to normal after the upgrades are done. My torrents are running at 15KB at the moment and it's erratic jumps to 17KB drops to 0.2KB and continues like that. I'll switch the scheduler on and leave it to start after midnight, hopefully it will run better tonight.

I'm also having issues with Telkom ISP in Durban
- High Pings
- Poor NNTP Throughput
- Poor Torrent Throughput
- Even poor HTTP and streaming throughput altogether
A router restart helps....but only for a short while. Within an hour or so, it's almost completely unusable even for browsing.
It started a few days ago. My sync is find and a speed test after a reset shows good results. WTF, Telkom?!
