Telkom Internet Uncapped User Feedback.

I don't know if there is something from with streaming or general throughput at the moment, or if my orange status is resulting in shaped video streaming, but I can't play youtube 480p smoothly ATM

Having the same problem , 6pm tonight my local ping was 11ms , now 219ms cant stream at all
 
It's now 00:40 AM and both torrents and NNTP went to 0kb/s, but Speedtest seems fine.
My status on TI-tracker is still orange and my usage for the month is 107gb on 2mbs.

Looks like I'm being shaped badly (and P2P completely stopped). At least I could play online the whole evening with no problems

All fine on this side. Full line speed on torrents and news servers respectively.

Well that was strange. This morning I see my NNTP and torrents started running again, averaging a total of 200 kb/s during the night

All streaming is running perfect again this morning was really a bad evening last night for streaming will check again this evening
 
Well that was strange. This morning I see my NNTP and torrents started running again, averaging a total of 200 kb/s during the night

My P2P was running good from 12am-6am done 5 Gigs on an 2MB line.
 
Ever since maintenance started on the exchange I'm connected to yesterday I've had nothing but misery. They were back at the exchange today until 18:00 and my line is still crap as hell.
 
Any feedback on the line upgrades promised. I thought all 1mb user will be upgraded to 2mb and 2mb users to 4mb?
 
Many users have been upgraded. I think some of the 1 Mbps lines might still be waiting, while others have been upgraded. I think the 2 and 4 lines have been completed if the exchange could support the upgrade.

Some ISP's won't automatically update your data speed package as it might include a price increase.

Thank you for the reply, yes my ISP is Telkom as well, the 1mb line is fine for what I use it for was just wondering if anybody has actually been upgraded or if there is a completion date .
 
any1 know wth is wrong with the torrents mine is crawling...........not getting more than 500 megs a night downloaded
 
My connection is barely existent. 0.02 DL and 0.43 UL according to SpeedTest, when it eventually loaded. 4MB Uncapped. This is my 3rd attempt at making this post as well. Anyone else in Durbs having issues ?

Having the same issue, but I'm in Jo'burg. 10Mbps line...

Between 12am and 8am my line flies after which I have a useless connection. This is the 3rd day of this happening. I know they did maintenance on the exchange but I have been told I have to wait for a techie... Will probably only happen in the new year.

Just managed to get online now again, after posting yesterday. Not sure what's going on. Will have to wait for the tech, who's scheduled to be out here tomorrow. Been wonky for a few days. Even now, I'm averaging around 50/60kbps max. Better than yesterday, but by no means acceptable.

Yeah, I'm getting dial-up like speeds too...

I'm starting to think that Telkom got it all wrong with these speed upgrades. Think they've underestimated the demand for bandwidth at the exchange I'm connected to, at least.

It can't be coincidence that my line performs normally during odd hours but suffers terribly during the day.

I'd post trace routes if they weren't embarrassing to look at... And they get progressively worse as the day goes on.

Makes you wonder what type of maintenance they were doing on the exchange for 2 days because it hasn't improved, if anything it's gotten worse.
