My son plays Black Ops 2 & BF3 on Xbox Live.
Fairly happy with it.
Occasional lag spikes but in general it performs well.

But if im not mistaken, BF3 and BO2 have local servers, i don't think COD Ghosts have a dedicated server in SA yet, could be why your sons gaming is OK? I might be mistaken, but that's my understanding.
 
Browsing, steaming, downloading all good.

Playing games I constantly get 600-800ms response time on local Mweb servers. really annoying, have logged 2 tickets with Telkom to get this resolved. Using an Afrihost/Mweb account and my ping is back to 20-50ms response
 
Okay, knowing ranger, he won't keep us without info much longer (unless mybb publishes an article first :p) . I can only guess that we have been pushed onto a alternate link and they are busy. Let us see how the day unfolds towards end of business.

Am getting 2-3Mbps on streaming using a 10MB line so i expect others on high speed lines will notice the same.
 
Had a game of Dota 2 just now, ping was ~300ms with it occasionally dropping to 40ms and occasionally peaking at 400ms

Teamspeak and CS GO is also having this latency issue although I have not taken any shots of it at this time.

Oddly the gaming ping over Christmas time was great for me :confused:

Big Bean I have the exact same issue, trace-route shows no latency at all but i'm onlyl affected in-game.
 
No reply from Telkom people with regard to slow international speeds...
 
Be glad you can browse. I just switched to TI from OpenWeb and just being able to open webpages is mana from heaven. If this qualifies as a bad day on TI, I couldn't be happier.

Do Telkom reps assist people in this thread? Decided to move to TI from next month but I'm concerned about support.

No.
Ranger does help and gives insight too problems, but he is not a TI rep, unless that changed recently. Also his time is limited and feedback here is not a primarily function not even sure if it can be described as secondary.

You can try @Telkomza here on MyBB or social media related platforms for line related and account issues.
 
Had some latency today playing Planetside, internet performance has been up and down the last couple days on my 4Mbps uncapped.

Please push for some info ranger and team. We want to give you guys our patience but there are some rather persistent folks that would rather cause a scene >.<

Even an unofficial rough ETTR would help :love:
 
Yea this is pathetic now. My Afrihost account is perfect. Full line speed and low latency.

With my 5 day old 4Mbps Telkom account the internet is terrible. Latency is atleast 150ms, mostly over 400ms when I try play counter strike at 196.30.66.46.

If I do a trace route everything is fine at sub 30ms. Actual performance is terrible.
