Still no news on the crappy international speeds? I can't even stream SD iTunes shows now...

Called them earlier and a fault has been logged, apparently they're not aware of the wider issues.

My latency on Dota 2 is terrible. 600+ and this is when I play on South African servers.

Something wrong on Telkom's side?
 
Facebook just took about 30 seconds to open up. Browsing seems a bit slower than usual as well tonight.
 
P2P is totally vrek, nevermind throttled or shaped or whatever.

If MickeyD has an issue, it (a)effects EVERY1 :p

Just switched to TI today and GW2 was completely unplayable this evening. Hope it's just a blip!

It is a blip that is possibly bigger than we currently know.

Things seem to be faster at this point, was able to stream in [edit] SD on Netflix.

Please provide a traceroute. I suspect DSLAM congestion.

No it's not a DSLAM congestion here is the trace, also i mentioned in earlier posts that when i swap to any other account my internet is perfect, ever since the upgrades the internet has turned to $h!t and every time when i phone the call center i get the same thing "DSLAM" and i prove them wrong and then the call gets closed with no resolution

Having same issues, escalated with them last night.. if you use another ISP account you should be fine.
 
There was something screwy with PE routing yesterday, I was getting +450ms pings to CTown from about 16:00 which was when I first noticed it on TI capped & uncapped.

All seems fine today though.
 
I have also noticed that my international speeds have been a bit crappy as of late... Youtube and Netflix are not streaming as well as they have in the past. Hope that this is resolved soon, don't drop the ball now Telkom!!

Do any of you try to solve your problems before contacting Telkom?

I often have issues on my line with speeds degrading or connections being lost.
I generally just do a soft reboot on my router through the router page and it solves everything.

Just this morning my line was running considerably slower than usual.
I noticed the downstream rate had changed on my router page.
I did the soft reboot and it was resolved.

Yep, I generally try and figure this kind of thing out myself before I post to forums or contact my SP. Must mention I also did the soft reboot first, then flushed the DNS, cleared all caches, had Telkom reset my port and even restored factory defaults to the router before I ended up logging a fault with Telkom and posting here.

But again, the problem seems to be fairly widespread (obviously not without exceptions), so hopefully Telkom provides some feedback soon.

... plus I don't think people make use of the SMS facility 012 321 0212, just sms your faulty ADSL line number and follow the prompts. Great for when techies are playing silly buggers on other peoples faults and manage to kill your line, usually gets sorted within half an hour.

Also people should take the time to RTFM (read the fine manual :)) when it comes to torrent issues. There's reams of info on the net re setting up your torrent client correctly and trying to download at full line speed is a definite no-no.
 
Just ordered 4 meg account via the do website. After the order went through it said I must wait for a sales rep to call. Does anyone know how long this will take? Or should I just go to a Telkom store to speed things up?
 
Imo you're better of dealing with the store.
The call center just farked my account up.
I had to apply for the same line multiple times due to call center crap.

I'm also having issues, can't stream SD on a 10MB uncapped account... and the social networking team are useless, I got zero response from them last time after multiple requests for assistance.

I now just log a complaint on hellopeter and wait for them, it seems the only way they respond.
