Ranger already explained in a previous post that they aren't allowed to make any huge changes during the transition period while they upgrade their network... Which seems utterly ridiculous that routes can't be changed, but I suppose that's out out of their hands.
A shame, since it seems like they are losing a lot of their gamers (and other people who actually use their connection) to other ISPs.

Really need to step up your game, Telkom. Afrihost offers (at this time) 400ms-500ms less latency, plus their business uncapped bundle packages (unthrottled) are cheaper than most of the the do uncapped bundles... In other words they are providing better service at a lower price than the company that owns most of South Africa's telecommunications infrastructure.

Afrihost are not cheaper.
3 days and you're saying people are jumping ship in droves.
Not likely.

Afrihost 10 Mbps Business uncapped bundle is R1297 PM as opposed to R1156 PM for the Telkom do Uncapped 10Mbps...

The extra R150 is well worth the completely unshaped nature of the package. The Afrihost Business Uncapped bundles are great value for money.

It's just a pity that I refuse to hand my line over to an ISP as I would rather deal directly with Telkom than have an ISP as a middle man.

I'm not saying that within three days all these people have changed ISP, I am talking about the last 6 months (or more for some people) of intermittent issues.

I made an error there. I meant that the non-business bundles are cheaper than the do bundles (R897 vs R1156 for 10mbps). The business bundles are better in terms of value.

Well I've had nothing but bliss for the last 6 months.
I feel bad for those having on going issues though.

It really isn't that hard... R30/GB capped prepaid from someone else for a couple of days can save a couple of lives seeing that some of the guys in here are about to have a heart attack.

TBH the current international problems haven't really impacted me. My VPNs are up and running normally, downloads are fine and BBC Channel 4 radio still streams OK :). The problems certainly aren't on a par with those of AH & axxess when they moved from IS to MTN.

It's the gamers & live TV streamers I feel sorry for as TI has really dropped the ball on feedback where this problem is concerned.

That's just it Mick, I'm still downloading full speed 24/7 on nzb.
It's strange but not really a major issue for me right now.
My son wants to play games but otherwise it's fine.

This is my local now as well...

Traceroute shows everything is fine though...
