Some things like browsing and so on seems fine , but usenet downloads is pretty much ****ed. Up and down on my 4mb ranging from 200kb/s to 0 and then remaining on 0kb/s until I reboot the router and the process repeats it self.

Pretty hardcore throttling from TI if you ask me.

I too was getting some bad speeds for some time, and the past weekend, i couldn't play Xbox live due to the lag, couldn't test that out last night or anytime soon as i am without an Xbox for now (D@M LIGHTNING!!) my NNTP was getting horrible speeds all the time (News provider is nextgen news - 10mbit account), but from what ranger said, it should've been sorted from 17:30 yesterday, and honestly, it seems to be back to normal on my side, i mean look at my usage comparison over the past 3 days, huge difference.

By the way, im on a 4meg uncapped account.

Electric, you raise a good point - My experience of all of these 'feedback' threads is typically the posts are mostly negative. People with issues are venting and ranting in them. This is natural of course, and the point of the thread, but it does tend to skew the thinking of anyone reading them into believing that everyone is having problems. Plainly those who are not having issues are simply not bothering to post (as I was) - they are just enjoying the goodness.

I unsubscribed from this thread some months ago, but resubscribed again last week when all this TI nonsense started. As Ranger said, something was done yesterday (which fixed things for me). I wish he would elaborate, but plainly he's not going to, either because he's not allowed, doesn't want to, or is simply too busy to.

Overall I'm still happy with the whole TI experience, but these 'wobbly spells' are sure getting annoying. And more frequent? I mean, how much more tinkering with their network are telkom going to be doing?
 
Signed up for the afrihost 1GB, and have to say I'm really impressed! Low latency in all games! A switch is imminent :thumbup:

Just remember that you are comparing uncapped to capped.

In my experience, the latency via Afrihost to EU is normally just a shade under 200ms. When Telkom works, it's a shade over.

I wonder what the Afrihost uncapped is like?

Still fine here in PE, just the one glitch yesterday around 16:00 which I assume was due to rangers team sorting out issues.

Ditched all my DNS mods and have been back on TI's auto assigned servers since Tues morning.

Oh ja and Telkom just phoned and the lady said I am not throttled, they do not throttle and I was one of the users affected by the outage and it should be working now. Have not had a chance to test, think I will just stick with Openweb.

From what Mr Beep says, Titan is their ****tiest package.

NNTP ran full speed through the night, gaming latencies have been the same so far as the Telkom account.

No issues so far.

A plus is that MrBeep actually responds and the service level from OpenWeb is fantastic, if the account does not work for me then I will get a higher up package.

The worst package from OW is probably better than this kark.

How is the day time performance though?
I been with Ti for a while now and this is the first time I have had so much crap for so long.
Normally I get line speed with all protocols besides torrents, anytime of day. Which is important becoz some weeks I'm at home during the day and I need my internet so I can stream.

Will only be able to test when I am at home during the week, may not be for a while :)
 
I have been using another ISPs capped product, I will switch back to TI uncapped this afternoon and give feedback on quality and status.

All those pings should be about 200-300 max like copacetic said.
Speeds seem to be a lot better, but plz , fix the ping.

Everything is normal on afrihost account. I'm starting to think there are other TI issues, esp when it comes to CT.
 
Thinks back to worse.

Same London speediest from before 7am this morning (Netcetera server): Throttled to hell and back again.

7:00am - 203ms ping and 6.47Mbit speeds, now down to this:
9:30am - 656ms ping and 0.6 Mbit speeds: 3232813783.png

Telkom Internet is broken.

How do you explain this, Ranger ?
 
It's actually worse. My youtube streaming has now also gone to hell in a hand basket where it was fine before.
