Decided to cancel and go for Afrihost instead, getting a constant 430kbps and 170ms internationally.

I understand that these issues happen from time to time, but the way Telkom has handled it is completely unacceptable. I'd rather hand over my hard earned cash to an ISP that has astounding service if I ever need it and welcomes your business, than one where I have to beg, plead and do the troubleshooting for them just to be told that there isn't an issue and I must go somewhere else if I'm unhappy.

Good luck to you guys sticking it out! Hope it comes right soon, but this was just the last straw for me.

Exactly my view as well.

If only I could cancel now ... 2 days and over 1 hour on hold, their cancellations department must still be on leave and short staffed.

TELKOM THIS CAN'T GO ON LIKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There will not be a response of any substance with regard to this because it would expose how hopelessly out of their depth they are. They've bitten off way more than they can chew with these upgrades an to compound matters there is chatter about layoffs.

At least now when you call their call center they acknowledge that they have a problem.

I also read that in the papers, I think I need to move ship

Wrong. They acknowledge there is a problem, but won't admit it is THEIR problem. No wonder nothing ever gets fixed in this country. Companies fighting like 5 year olds arguing over who started a fight in the back of the car.

Oddly, wouldn't Telkom Mobile/8ta use the same backbone, so shouldn't it experience the same problems? (which it isnt)

anyone else still having problems with Netflix? Telkom says my service should be back to normal but it isn't half as decent as it was last week...

Ya Chris_SA, Netflix still buffering slow and NO SuperHD or HD for that matter :) :/. Luckily am playing abit of Aura Kingdom open beta (when it comes back from DDOS attacking) and ASDA :).

Hope this weekend all is good again.

Cancelled yesterday and and move to Openweb. It was like moving from the dark ages to 2020. Download from torrents sites is a pleasure again. More than a R100 cheaper as well.. Phone Telkom's new services and the lady cancelled my contract

Let's hope - thanks :)

Well, they just finished installing my 2meg line.
I just need to make a 30m patch cable, then hopefully im good to go :-)

Surely hope I don't have the same experiences as you guys :(
I'm also with TI for now.

Which package did you have with TI and which package did you take at Openweb if I may ask? By my calculations TI is still the slightly cheaper option? I'm on the verge of cancelling, 4 full days without connection now! Starting to look at my alternatives...

Chances are that you will experience some degradation as we all are.

My advice is get the 1GB free AH data (no CC needed just send them your I.D scanned) and hold on until you see posts saying all is good here :).

They are working on the problems, just we have no ETA from Telkom so user feedback here keeps us updated and quite quickly too. ;-)

You think maybe Telkoms trying to "lose" TI subscribers to lighten on the infrastructure? If i had a $ for every post i read of someone jumping ship in the last 72 hours....
