I know it's being attended to as quickly as possible, but I must note that this is pretty aggravating:

I want to cancel my TI account.
I read on previous posts that you get canceled immediately but I called 10210 and the lady told me today that it takes a month to cancel. Who is right?
 
So, like ranger said 2-3 days, we can probably assume that those are 2-3 WORKING days so they probably didn't work today (I mean, who's productive on a Friday). They probably don't work on weekends meaning we'll probably have better internet someday like on next Thursday :)

got told the same thing today. also cant cancel immediately - have to take down my details and get someone to call me back.
 
Singed up with Afrihost, will cancel TI in store tomorrow. I'll give TI a few months to recover :)

Cancelled on Monday same story, 30 days’ notice, seems like it is pretty standard with most ISP’s these days.
 
Sorry to hear so many are having problems with TI, but i havent experienced any of these since November last year. Maybe it because I am using a business account?
 
TI torrents only work with TI SA users. Speeds are rubbish but at least things are coming down.

As it is clearly TI not having enough bandwidth to go round - One would assume they would give business account holders better service than the ordinary account holder.

How did you get cancelled? Did you go to telkom outlet or did the telkom guys call you back to confirm cancellation?

Afrihost makes it so easy to cancel. Just press a button before like the 28th of the month and they cancel you, easy.

I think their "temporary fix" is to throttle the hell out of international P2P and streaming, so I wouldn't expect any high speeds until it is fixed.
 
Do these shaping/throttling issues happen periodically?

Might reconsider moving to TI :erm:
