See - thats my problem - I started a couple of days before the end of my billing cycle, and they still charged me for the full period.... the woman said I'd be charged pro-rata.

The woman I spoke to advised me to cancel my do3 on the last day of the month then apply for the uncapped on the first of the next month. She made it clear that there is no pro-rata with data packages. They do charge pro-rata for the line, maybe you misunderstood.

How would I have misunderstood someone saying I'll be charged pro-rata?

I started on the 3rd of November, they billed me for October.

For the line. Not the data

I will check my account tomorrow and follow up if required...

Also got billed double, canceled on the 31st, October, and requested my Uncapped to start the 1st November, got charged for October, and November, after having paid in full for my 16Gig account, which still had approx 1/2 Gig to go - not very charmed, with the situation ... - ah well, hopefully this can be sorted amicabilly ... , which I doudt, but ... , ja ...

It won't - had I huge argument with them on Friday...they don't give a ****.

Seems I'm the first to complain about speed.
Local is fine, but international it doesn't matter what time I can't keep a constant speed and I get an average of 22kB/s.
(Which is way below what they said they'd throttle)

I'm on a 384 line.

i know this might be hard, but when i phone telkom about a billing issue, i'm sweet as pie, and they help you out :)

I tried that, but they transferred me 3x, eventually told me to send an email and someone will phone me...did that then they phoned me back and said "tough".... even though when I spoke to them the first time they said they can see the error...

that is frustrating, just keep trying, you will get someone eventually who can reverse the costs, I had to do it recently and when they see the problem , they have to put in a reversal request....

My connection is like a yoyo tonight  8KB - 100KB - 1KB - 50KB - 90KB - 5KB etc. every 10 seconds.

i've cancelled purely and simply because i wanted my 4mbit line back. It took me about 6 calls yesterday in order to get my data package cancelled after which they also queued my line for cancellation. It then took another 5 calls to ensure my line was not cancelled. Telkom are beyond useless.

I logged a fault with Telkom - ****, I wish there was one stable ISP in this country.

Until the ipc/backbone/network/cables and gravy train is sorted out there wont be. So best we can do is use the lesser evil of the lot that's "most stable" for your needs and direct area.

Logged a fault via the website and trues goodness, back to 100% instantly... wonder if they automate a port reset.
