Telkom Internet working on ADSL problems

6 MB line here in EL. Local speedtest is 100% but international gave me 40kb/s. It's been painful all day!

maby a router somewhere thats linking at 100mbps half fuplex :D

Anyone know when exactly did this issue start?

Needing to know if its related to my current issue

it started for me around Thursday last week..
its a on and off story but very annoying as i would almost lose international completely.
I PMed TelkomZA on Friday and sent trace routes over, haven't received any response as yet but later on Friday afternoon it seemed to improve again and it was fine till last night around 19:30 it started doing the same again..
the thing was that only sometimes during these "episodes" local connectivity was also extremely slow. Did some trace routes the first hop after the router is only 8ms but after that it would go as high as 1700ms.

There's something wrong with TI? :wtf:

This is my line at home, and its been like this all day long:

Yeah P2P performance is horrible on capped accounts!
Streaming performance is pretty good.
Also http downloads perform reasonably good.
This is over an extended period of time.
Definitely not during these "episodes" that their systems seem to have lately, like i said when that happens i might as well switch my router off.

Thank you
My problem also started last week Thursday
But my issue which started last week Thursday has been that the line keeps loosing sync resulting poor performance

I got in to a fat argument with one of the clowns on 10210 about our business line last week experiencing slow international traffic. So the silly t!ef gets me to do a local speed test and then claims nothing wrong when I point out to her that it doesn't help the fact that my download is running a 1/10th of my line speed from an international server.

So glad they are not my ISP, but unfortunately it's what we have at work.

What I find truly unforgiveable is the call centres who logged thousands and thousands of line faults when they should have known this was not the issue! I had a telkom tech phone me on the weekend to tell me she had checked my line and it was running 100% as far as she could tell. I then told her it was a problem with international latency. How many man-hours wasted on false fault checking because they could not communicate their way out of a paper bag. For a communications company it is a bloody joke!
That said I returned home from work hoping Telkom hand managed to unstick its head from up its arse but sadly my ping to Europe is still over 800 plus

I have been having issues with the torrents not even downloading, I thought this was just them throttling to death. And the high ping got me :(
