My parents received a message from Telkom during the last couple of days advising them that their landline will be migrated to a FLLA service. I assume that they will be getting a desktop phone instead of a router with a telephone jack which would be more appropriate since they have a cordless phone that they would like to keep.
If you browse to the FLLA page on the Telkom website and click on 'Read more', it takes you to a page offering Telkom IP voice packages starting around R68 (R50 rental + R17 Evening and Weekend plan) versus R228 for the same plan using the FLLA service. Has anyone tried these packages on a voip enabled phone? Is the sound quality at a minimum comparable to that of a landline?
