Telkom is making more money, getting more customers

Telkom has released its financial results for the year ended 31 March 2016, which show that the company’s operating revenue grew by 13.9% to R37.3 billion.

So Telkom Internet's DSL market share dropped from 57.2% to 55.9% (year on year).

Since I moved to FTTH I canned DSTV, went to Netflix. The pricing for FTTH was quite a bite more (100mpbs) so yes my spend with Telkom as a home user has doubbled.

Telkom said it has seen customer growth of 23.8% over the period, and increased the number of LTE integrated sites on its network by 9.9% to 1,448.

Not surprising at all. Telkom has very attractive LTE bundles and the performance is excellent.

Overall good results from Telkom, IT (BCX) and Mobile are starting to close the gap of declining traditional business.

I hope some of this "more money" goes towards sorting out their customer service department. Interacting with them is like a visit to the dentist.
