Telkom ISP block IP's??

is this possible that they can block you from accessing certain sites?
somebody i know has access to this particular site and i dont???
this person also has telkom adsl

how does this work?

Try running a traceroute from both endpoints to the destination server, and compare the results. I'm guessing that it's simply a broken route somewhere along the way.

Try switching off your router for 10 min, then switching it on. Perhaps you will get a new IP pool and a different set of routes.

1. i did switch off the router yesterday cos i had to re-lay the cable..that did not work

i ran a trace route and got two lines with request time out
i also ran a trace route from work pc and got no request time outs and it also follows a different "path"..at work i can access this site with no problems
but at home its a different story. can i force a specified "path"?

Just a question, are you maybe running an app like peerblock or similar.? These apps blocks certain sites. You just click on the icon and click ALLOW HTTP. This happens to me alot.
