OK so what stops any ISP from showing Telkom the middle finger and installing fiber to the home alongside Telkom's copper. Why do we have to wait for local loop unbundeling to be resolved ?

Lol. Money or lack thereof stops many things from happening.

I'll install FTTH to your house, no problems..

It will cost R150k to install. (conservative figure), and I'll get back to you on how many children you will have to sell on a monthly baby to cover the costs of the service.

Every one wants a network but no one wants to pay for it and why should they, they can use Telkoms network :D

You can get a fiber line from Neotel and use them as an ISP (they peer with everyone), or if you have enough money - you can peer with DFA directly with whom you can peer with any SA ISP.

The same network that they are currently lambasting?
Thats the one ,and LLU is supposed to happen November so we will see how all the ISPs like to pay for the copper maintenance and deficit.
